How Members Install a Client Certificate File

Note: This describes how a member installs a certificate on their own device when client authentication has already been configured.

The installation method differs depending on your environment. Please refer to the sections below.
For PC (Chrome, Internet Explorer on Windows)

For PC (Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer on Windows)

Log in to TrustLogin.

  1. Click View Details in the banner to open the profile screen, where a Download Certificate button appears on the right.

  2. When you click the Download Certificate button, a screen for entering the certificate protection password appears. Please set your own password.
    Note: The password must be 12 to 50 characters long and include symbols, numbers, lowercase letters, and uppercase letters.

  3. Click Download. Once you obtain the certificate, client authentication will be enabled when logging in to TrustLogin.

  4. Double-click the downloaded p12 file to open the certificate import wizard. Confirm that the storage location is set to Current User, then click Next.

  5. Confirm that the file to be imported is the specified p12 file, then click Next.

  6. In the private key password field, enter the certificate protection password you set earlier, then click Next.

  7. Confirm that the radio button is set to Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate, then click Next.

  9. Click the Finish button to import the certificate.

Note: You must restart your browser after installing the certificate.

How to Check the Certificate Store by Browser

To verify that the certificate has been imported, here is how to check the certificate store for each browser.

[For Google Chrome]

You can check the certificate store from Settings > Privacy and security > Security > Manage certificates.

[For Microsoft Edge]

You can check the certificate store from Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Security > Manage certificates.

[For Internet Explorer]

You can check the certificate store from Tools > Internet Options > Content > Certificates.

Note: The client certificate is usually stored under the "Personal" tab.


For PC (Chrome on macOS)

Log in to TrustLogin.

  1. Click View Details in the banner to open the profile screen, where a Download Certificate button appears on the right.

  2. When you click the Download Certificate button, a screen for entering the certificate protection password appears. Please set your own password.
    Note: The password must be 12 to 50 characters long and include symbols, numbers, lowercase letters, and uppercase letters.

  3. Click Download. Once you obtain the certificate, client authentication will be enabled when logging in to TrustLogin.

  4. Double-click the p12 file to open macOS Keychain Access and a screen for entering the p12 file's password. Enter the certificate protection password and click OK.

  5. If you can find the certificate under "Category" > "My Certificates" in the left-hand menu of Keychain Access, the installation was successful.

For PC (Firefox on Windows and macOS)

Log in to TrustLogin.

  3. Click Download. Once you obtain the certificate, client authentication will be enabled when logging in to TrustLogin.

  4. Open the Firefox browser and click the Menu icon in the top right of the screen, then click Options (Settings).

  5. Select Privacy & Security in the left-hand menu, then open the certificate manager from the View Certificates button.

  6. Open the "Your Certificates" tab in the certificate manager and click the "Import" button.

  7. Select the p12 file downloaded from a file server or similar location, and enter the certificate protection password.

  8. Return to the certificate manager; if the certificate information is displayed under "Your Certificates," the installation is complete.

For the TrustLogin Mobile App (iOS)

  1. After the administrator configures client authentication, log in to TrustLogin. Open View Details shown near the top of the screen.

  2. Tap Download Certificate.

  3. When you tap the Download Certificate button, a screen for entering the certificate protection password appears. Please set your own password.
    Note: The password must be at least 11 characters long and include symbols, numbers, lowercase letters, and uppercase letters.

  4. Select "Allow."

  5. Open the device's "Settings" app. You will see a message saying "Profile Downloaded," so tap it and enter the device passcode.

  6. Tap "Install" → "Install."

  7. Enter the "certificate protection password" you set in step 3, then tap "Next" to proceed. The installation complete screen will appear.

  8. A dialog for selecting a certificate will appear when logging in to TrustLogin. Select the client certificate you installed, and login will be complete.

For the TrustLogin Mobile App (Android)

How to Check the Certificate Store by Browser
