Identity Provisioning Setup for AppDynamics

This page describes the initial setup steps for using TrustLogin as the source of identity
to perform Identity Provisioning to AppDynamics.

Setup Steps

AppDynamics Settings

  1. After logging in to AppDynamics, click "Administration" from the account menu in the upper right.

  2. Click the "API Clients" tab.

  3. Select the client you want to use from the list of API Clients.
    (If creating a new one, click "+ Create" to create it.)

  4. Check the value of "Client Name". When entering it into TrustLogin, use the format "Client Name@Account Name".
    Example: myApiClient@myCompany

  5. Click "Generate Secret".

  6. Click the copy icon for the generated "Client Secret" to copy it.
    Note: This secret cannot be displayed again, so be sure to copy it on this screen.

  7. From the URL shown in your browser's address bar, copy the base URL in the following format.
    Format: https://<tenant>.saas.appdynamics.com
    Example: https://mycompany.saas.appdynamics.com


    This completes the preliminary preparation on the AppDynamics side. Next, configure the TrustLogin side.

TrustLogin Settings

  1. Log in to the TrustLogin Admin Page, and from the "Admin Page > Settings > Optional Features" menu,
    click "Settings" to the right of "Identity Provisioning" to open it.

  2. Click "Add Service", enter "app" or similar in the search field, select "AppDynamics", and click the "Add" button.

  3. You will be redirected to the "Identity Provisioning > AppDynamics" page.
    Click the "Edit" button.

  4. Enter the following values in "Access Settings", and click the "Register" button.

    API URL Enter the AppDynamics endpoint.
    Example: https://<accountName>.saas.appdynamics.com
    (<accountName> is your AppDynamics account name)
    Client ID Enter in the format "Client Name@Account Name".
    Example: myApiClient@myCompany
    Client Secret The "Client Secret" value copied in step 6 of AppDynamics Settings

  5. Click the "Connect" button in the upper right of the screen.

  6. Once the button status updates to "Connected", the initial setup is complete.

Values You Can Configure in Attribute Mapping

You can link any attribute on the TrustLogin side with any attribute on the AppDynamics side.
