Initial Setup Steps for Identity Provisioning with TestRail

This page describes the initial setup steps for using TrustLogin as the source of identity
to perform Identity Provisioning to TestRail.

Setup Steps

TestRail Settings

  1. Log in to TestRail with administrator privileges, and click "Account Name > My Settings" in the upper right of the screen.

  2. Click the "API KEYS" tab > "Add Key".

  3. Enter a name of your choice, then click the "Generate Key" button.

  4. Copy the displayed API Key, then click "Add Key".
    Note: You cannot view the token again after clicking "Save". Please make sure you have copied it.

  5. Click "Save Configuration".

    This completes the preparation on the TestRail side. Next, configure the settings on the TrustLogin side.

TrustLogin Settings

  1. Log in to the TrustLogin Admin Page, and from the "Admin Page > Settings > Optional Features" menu,
    open "Settings" next to "Identity Provisioning".

  2. Click "Add Service".

  3. On the Add Service screen, search for and select "TestRail", then click the "Add" button.

  4. You will be redirected to the "Identity Provisioning > TestRail" page.
    Click the "Edit" button.

  5. Open "Access Settings", enter the following values for the settings items, and click "Save".

    Connection URL The subdomain of the TestRail instance you are connecting to
    Note: Please specify the environment (subdomain) of TestRail that you are using.
    Username The username used to log in to TestRail
    Note: This is usually your email address.
    API Token TestRail Settings The value of "API Key" copied in step 4

  6. Click the "Connect" button in the upper right of the screen.

  7. Once the button status updates to "Connected", the initial setup is complete.
