How to Configure SAML Authentication for Notion

  • The Identity Provisioning configuration created in this procedure can be linked to an existing SAML app.
    For details on SAML app configuration, please checkhere.

Notes

  • In order for user operations (additions, updates, deletions) on the TrustLogin side to be
    correctly reflected in Notion, domain verification is required on the Notion side.
    Note: Notion and TrustLogin must use the same domain.

Setup Steps

Notion Settings

  1. Log in to Notion with administrator privileges, and go to "Settings > Authentication (identity)".

  2. Click "Add token" in the "SCIM Provisioning" section.

  3. Copy the token. (You will use this later when configuring the TrustLogin side.)

    This completes the preparation on the Notion side. Next, configure the settings on the TrustLogin side.

TrustLogin Settings

  1. Log in to the TrustLogin Admin Page, and from the "Admin Page > Settings > Optional Features" menu,
    open "Settings" next to "Identity Provisioning".

  2. Click "Add Service".

  3. On the Add Service screen, search for and select "Notion", then click the "Add" button.

  4. You will be redirected to the "Identity Provisioning > Notion" page.
    Click the "Edit" button to open "Access Settings", enter the following values for the settings items, and click "Save".

  5. Click the "Connect" button in the upper right of the screen.

  6. Once the button status updates to "Connected", the initial setup is complete.

Values You Can Configure in Attribute Mapping

The following values can be specified as default functions for Notion.

Value Description
Full Name Full name with the last name first.
Full Name with First Name First Full name with the first name first.
Username from Email Takes the part of the email before the @ and limits it to a maximum of 21 characters.
Username from Email (Remove Special Characters) Generates a username from the user's email address.
Extracts the local part and removes invalid characters (only letters, numbers, and underscores (_) are allowed).

  3. On the Add Service screen, search for and select "Notion", then click the "Add" button.

  4. You will be redirected to the "Identity Provisioning > Notion" page.
