using TrustLogin as the identity source.

How to Set Up SAML JIT for Slack
  • You can link the identity provisioning configuration created in this procedure to an existing SAML app.
    For details on the SAML app configuration, please see here.

  • To prevent conflicts when updating user attributes caused by using the identity provisioning feature together with SAML JIT,
    we recommend not configuring the "SAML attribute settings" for duplicate user attributes when creating a SAML app.
    Note: Behavior depends on the specifications of each service, so please check with each SP for details.

Setup Procedure

Connect TrustLogin to Slack

  1. Log in to the TrustLogin Admin Page, and from the "Admin Page > Settings > Optional Features" menu,
    open "Settings" to the right of "Identity Provisioning".

  2. Click "Add Service".

  3. Search for "Slack", select it, and click the "Add" button.

  4. You will be redirected to the "Identity Provisioning > Slack" page.
    Click the "Connect" button.

  5. Click "Yes".

  6. You will be redirected to the Slack screen.
    Enter your workspace URL and click "Continue".

  7. Enter your login information and sign in.

  8. Confirm that the display inside the red frame in the image reads "Organization", then
    click "Allow".

    Note: If the display shows "workspace", use the dropdown at the top right to
     reselect the "Organization" you want to connect, then click "Allow".

  9. You will be taken to the identity provisioning settings screen.
    Once the button status changes to "Connected", the initial setup is complete.

About Values Available for Attribute Mapping

The values that can be specified as default functions for Slack are as follows.

Value Description
Full Name This is the full name with the surname first.
Full Name with Given Name First This is the full name with the given name first.
Username from Email Retrieves the part of the email before the "@" and limits it to a maximum of 21 characters.

Remarks

(Reference) Linking Groups to Workspaces/Channels

Groups synced from TrustLogin to Slack are not assigned to a workspace or channel,
so you will need to link them manually.
Note: Perform this step only after group provisioning has completed successfully.
