How to Configure SAML Authentication for Yellowfin

TrustLogin Admin Page Settings

  1. Log in to TrustLogin, open the "Admin Page > App" menu, and click the "Register App" button in the upper right of the screen.

  2. Search on the "Register Company App" screen and select "Yellowfin (SAML)".

  3. Make a note of the "IdP URL" and "Issuer / Entity ID" values under "Identity Provider Information", and download the certificate by clicking the "Get Certificate" button.03.png

At this point, switch to configuring the Yellowfin side.
Do not click the "Register" button yet; open Yellowfin in a separate window.

Yellowfin Settings

  1. Log in to Yellowfin, click "Administration > System Configuration > Authentication > Authentication Method", and turn on the toggle for "SAML Single Sign-On".

  2. When you turn on the toggle, the configuration screen opens. Configure the settings as shown below, and save by clicking "Save".
    IdP Entity ID The "Issuer / Entity ID" you noted from TrustLogin
    IdP SSO URL The "IdP URL" you noted from TrustLogin
    IdP SLO URL https://portal.trustlogin.com/
    IdP SLO Response URL Blank
    IdP Certificate The contents of the certificate downloaded from TrustLogin
    Service Provider Private Key Blank
    Service Provider Certificate Blank
    Signature Algorithm RSA-SHA256
    Digest Algorithm SHA256
    Request Encryption OFF
    User ID Attribute email
    Client Reference ID Attribute Blank
    SSO Entry Option Attribute Blank

Return to the TrustLogin Admin Page again.

TrustLogin Admin Page Settings (Continued)

  1. Enter the following values in the blank fields under "Service Provider Settings".
    Entity ID

    The Base URL for external report access in Yellowfin
    Note: If unknown, you can check this under Yellowfin's "Administration > System Configuration > System > General Settings > Base URL for External Access to Reports".

    ACS URL for the Service The Base URL for external report access in Yellowfin

  2. Save by clicking the "Register" button.

TrustLogin User Settings

① When a user adds the app from My Page

  1. Click the "Add App" button on "My Page".
  2. On the "Register App" screen, select "Yellowfin (SAML)" and click the "Next" button in the upper right of the screen.
  3. If you want to change the "Display Name", enter it and click the "Save" button.

②When an administrator adds members

  1. Search for and click the "Yellowfin (SAML)" app in the "Admin Page > App" menu.
  2. Click "Add Member", select the user to add from the member list, and click the "Save" button to add them.
