This article explains how to proceed if you are using One-Time Password (OTP) authentication and
your mobile device changes, for example due to a device upgrade.

Note: If none of the methods described on this page resolve the issue, the OTP option will need to
be reassigned.
Setting Up Google Authenticator
You can back up using a Google account or perform a manual backup.

Method 1. Backup Using a Google Account
By signing in to your Google account in Google Authenticator, you can back up your codes.

Method 2. Manual Backup
This method lets you transfer your settings manually without using a Google account.
Note: This method assumes you still have your old (previous) device on hand.
- On your old device, open the Google Authenticator app and tap the menu in the upper left.
- Tap “Transfer accounts.”
- Tap “Continue.”
- A QR code for migration will be displayed.
Note: At this point, do not proceed to “Next” yet — please prepare your new device first.
- On your new device, open Google Authenticator and scan the QR code shown in step 4.
- Once you scan the QR code, the account information will be imported to your new device.
Note: After transferring the information to your new device, you can choose whether to delete or keep the account information on your old device.
If you choose to delete it, please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Setting Up Microsoft Authenticator
You can back up your account credentials and app settings to the cloud.
